Even though Brie Larson told us it was coming, we still weren’t ready for the new Captain in town.

We finally have a first look at Captain Marvel in a slew of new photos from Entertainment Weekly.

Captain Marvel arrives in theaters in just six months on March 8, on International Women’s Day, proving the future is female.

“She can’t help but be herself,” Larson told EW. “She can be aggressive, and she can have a temper, and she can be a little invasive and in your face. She’s also quick to jump to things, which makes her amazing in battle because she’s the first one out there and doesn’t always wait for orders. But the [not] waiting for orders is, to some, a character flaw.”

The film will pack a lot of firsts for Marvel, including the studio’s first feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a female lead and the first time a film will take place in the 1990s. Scroll below to see some more of the newly-released photos.

Look at this badassery!

Danvers will already have her powers in the film, and is a part of Starforce—an elite military team—on the Kree planet of Hala, according to EW.

NICK FURY HAS BOTH EYES!

Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) is the youngest we’ve ever seen him, but it is the ’90s, after all!

Hey, you look familiar!

Two Kree faces you’ll probably remember from Guardians of the Galaxy are Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), both appearing in the movie.

Carol, werk that Nine Inch Nails T-shirt.

Another gem of this movie’s setting is that it’ll have tons of earthly ’90s references.

Not the green aliens you want to run into.

The Skrulls have shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays Talos, their leader.

Taking flight!

Danvers is an Air Force pilot turned intergalactic hero. Larson spent time with actual pilots for research, according to EW.

I completely trust her with my life and to stop Thanos. Hey Marvel, when’s the trailer coming out?
