Captain Marvel

Grab your boom box and get ready to blast “I’m Just a Girl” at full volume because Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) is officially heading back to the big screen.

According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood ReporterCaptain Marvel 2 is finally in the works from Marvel Studios, and the sequel is set to take Danvers out of the ’90s and into the present day. Marvel reportedly tapped Megan McDonnell, a staff writer for WandaVision, to write the script. THR also reports that Marvel hopes to select a female director to helm the movie and will aim for a 2022 release.

Two more years feels like a long time to wait for a second Captain Marvel installment, but here’s hoping that we see the MCU’s most powerful hero pop up in another title before then!
