A trio of new stars will round out the witching residents of Greendale for Netflix‘s special holiday-themed episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale.

Actor McKenna Grace (I, Tonya, Captain Marvel) will appear in the holiday special as Li’l Sabrina.

According to a statement from the streaming platform, “During our holiday special, we’ll get to see what Sabrina was like as a precocious tot. And while The Church of Night celebrates the Solstice, that doesn’t stop Li’l Sabrina from asking Santa for something special.”

Grace could easily be a younger doppelgänger for Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) herself, and based on the young actor’s previous roles, she certainly has the sass to tackle young Sabrina as a “precocious tot.”

In fact, it was Shipka who hand-selected Grace to play her character’s younger self, show creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed.

“When Kiernan heard we were doing Li’l Sabrina, she texted me a picture of her with McKenna and said, ‘You have to get McKenna. She’s like me as a little girl and we’re dead ringers,’” series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told The Wrap. “And then we reached out [to McKenna] and said, ‘Do you want to be Li’l Sabrina for the Christmas special?’ And she said yeah. And it was as easy as that! It came from Kiernan though.”

Additionally for season 2, CAOS added Alexis Denisof (Much Ado About Nothing, Angel) and Jedidiah Goodacre (The Originals, Descendants) as recurring guest stars. Denisof will play Mary Wardwell’s boyfriend, Adam Masters. Masters’ character is described as, “Handsome and charming, Adam returns to Greendale after a stint overseas working with Physicians Without Frontiers—unaware that his fiancé has been taken over by the demoness Madam Satan.” Goodacre will play warlock Dorian Grey, a nightclub owner in town. Grey is described as an “enigmatic gentleman of an indeterminate age who is very good at keeping secrets, especially his own—a cursed portrait he hides from prying eyes.”

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale debuts on Netflix Dec. 14.
