After a brief hiatus following intense sexual assault and abuse allegations, Chris Hardwick is back in full force. After investigating matters, AMC reinstated Hardwick as the host of Talking Dead, the after show for The Walking Dead. He will also make an appearance as a guest judge on this week’s episode of America’s Got Talent on Aug. 7 (although the episode was filmed before the accusations were made public), and will return as host of the game show The Wall, which will begin production of its third season in the fall.

AMC suspended Hardwick after abuse allegations were made by actress and ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra in an online essay on Medium. Dykstra never referred to Hardwick by name, but Hardwick confirmed she was talking about him when he issued a denial in response to her claims.

Hardwick stepped down from his International Comic-Con: San Diego (SDCC) moderating gigs, with Yvette Nicole Brown serving as his replacement at panels for both Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead.

Following their decision to reinstate Hardwick, AMC issued a statement to USA Today that read, “We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”
