If your apartment is missing a small door-turned-portal to the Other World, you can pretend it’s there by playing the new Coraline — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack — 15th Anniversary Edition 2xLP. Preorders start today!
Mondo’s new vinyl celebrates 15 years of Coraline (and 15 years of the frightening-yet-settling soundtrack). The 2XLP comes in a limited-edition package for fans of the stop-motion movie and Neil Gaiman novel. The cover art, courtesy of Laika, features an image of Coraline made from buttons and the Other Mother’s needle hand.
There are two different variants: a cornetto vinyl with white-and-blue and white-and-yellow stripes (a call to the main character’s iconic hair color and rain jacket) and the other with black button picture discs.
Each one also features a pop-up gatefold of the Pink Palace, which stands from the record sleeve. Fans will notice that the landscape under the pop-up Pink Palace reflects the white, crippling landscape of the Other World toward the end of Coraline.
You can listen to all the music from the film, the “Other Father” original song by They Might Be Giants, and search for the souls of children — or just hang out.
You can preorder the cornetto vinyl or black button picture disc for $60 each today at 12 p.m. CT (1:00 p.m. ET, 10:00 a.m. PT) at mondoshop.com. Laika teased additional variants, so you can plan on clearing more space for your Coraline collection.
