Dave Bautista is in talks to join the cast of Fantasy Island, the movie adaptation of the classic ‘70s TV show about a tropical resort where dreams come true, but occasionally turn into nightmares. The film will be about a group of contest winners staying at the mystical island hotel—and is said to be Westworld meets The Cabin in the Woods.
Bautista is a professional wrestler-turned-actor who played Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, and Avengers: Infinity War. Other cast mates already on board include Ant-Man’s Michael Pena as host Mister Roarke, and Crazy Rich Asians’ Jimmy O. Yang as a guest on the island. The character Bautista is gunning for is a former guest who is stuck on the island against his will, looking to expose Roarke and the secrets of the island.
