100 years of Disney later, we still believe the best way to celebrate is with new merch!
Disney is teaming up with Givenchy once again to introduce a new capsule collection, this time featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. This new apparel drop is just in time for the New Year and Walt Disney’s upcoming 100th anniversary.
Walt Disney Animation Studios already kicked off the centennial celebration earlier this month by releasing the first Oswald short in about 95 years, which features Madelaine Petsch, Amber Liu, and Alton Mason. The short film will be shown during a world tour, touching down in Los Angeles, Shanghai, New York, Tokyo, Paris, and more before ending at the House of Givenchy. To further encapsulate Oswald’s vibrant spirit, Givenchy Creative Director Matthew M. Williams collaborated with Disney to bring fans an exclusive launch, full of unique collectible merch and accessories.
The drop features a blue-and-white varsity jacket that’s detailed with adorable depictions of Oswald giving a flower to his one true love, Ortensia. The launch also includes a red shirt and shorts set featuring Oswald riding a horse among bandana-style fabrics. Fans can also collect a variety of colorful T-shirts, which embrace Givenchy’s roots by mixing in classic Parisian scenery. For those looking for a comfier ‘fit with a simpler Disney aesthetic, the collection will also offer, hoodies, tank tops, and track pants, all decorated with the Givenchy 4G symbol within heart patterns and Disney imagery.
The collection will also offer a variety of accessories, including tote bags, sneakers, cross-body purses, card carriers, phone cases, earbud cases, and more. Starting now, fans can rep their Disney x Givenchy pride with the Oswald Sky Painter AR lens on the Snapchat mobile app. With the filter, fans can decorate their photos with themed paints, stencils, and passport stamps.
Disney fans and designer collectors alike can look forward to shopping the full capsule collection at the Miami Aventura pop-up store starting on Dec. 19. On Dec. 30, the merch will be available worldwide in stores and on givenchy.com.
