Listen closely. Do you hear it? It’s the sound of the Star Wars hype machine about to get punched into hyperdrive.
It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan with Star Wars Resistance currently airing its second and final season; The Mandalorian set for its Disney+ debut on Nov. 12; Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order hitting game systems on Nov. 15; and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker blasting into theaters on Dec. 20. And that’s just the on-screen entertainment.
Convention season seems to be getting longer every year, and this past weekend brought a pair of big events in Europe: ReedPop’s MCM Comic Con — London, and Paris Comic Con, both of which featured Hasbro Star Wars panels and reveals.
Star Wars the Vintage Collection
For collectors of Hasbro’s premium Star Wars lines, the latest reveals should be well-received. From The Mandalorian, both Cara Dune and the titular bounty hunter will be issued as 3.75-inch, super-articulated Star Wars the Vintage Collection action figures.
Star Wars the Black Series
In 6-inch scale, four figures were revealed as new additions to the Star Wars the Black Series lineup, including Zorii Bliss and a Knight of Ren from The Rise of Skywalker, and Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they appeared in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002). Most of these items are available through mass retailers, on Hasbro Pulse, and through Entertainment Earth. Additionally, a pair of Mandalorian role-play items was revealed, including a mask and a NERF-enabled Rocket Gauntlet.
Star Wars Battle Bobblers
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Hasbro is releasing an entirely new Star Wars line next spring. Star Wars Battle Bobblers are a collection of cartoon-styled figures designed for kids ages 4 and up.
Speaking of new collectibles, curious what to get the Star Wars lover on your holiday shopping list this season? We have some thoughts.
This coming weekend, fans can expect even more reveals when the Hasbro Star Wars team rolls into Lucca Comics & Games (Tuscany, Italy) and Manga Barcelona (Spain) for additional panel appearances. One final batch should be revealed at the German Comic Con Dortmund in December.
Mandalorian Updates and Rumors
Ahead of the Nov. 12 debut for Disney+, the studio unleashed a new batch of posters and screeners for Disney’s new original programming. While we have the posters, one glaring omission in the screeners is The Mandalorian, for which a note has been sent that falls in line with some previous launches for both Marvel and Lucasfilm properties: “In order to give audiences the opportunity to enjoy the show to the fullest and allow them to discover any surprises and plot twists, we will not offer screeners before the series debuts.”
One such surprise may be what the New York Times calls “a dramatic Star Wars-universe spoiler” contained in the first episode. What exactly is it? While plenty of speculation is swirling, we’ll wait to find out until the series hits screens. In the meantime, check out the new trailer right now!
Adidas x Star Wars
Run-D.M.C. once rapped the praises of their Adidas‘ adventures from the streets to the stage and the Hollywood screen. Now, the famed sneaker and lifestyle brand is heading back to a galaxy far, far away with a fresh collaboration with Lucasfilm for a Star Wars capsule collection to be released in three waves: Lightsaber pack (Nov. 1), Space Battle pack (Nov. 21), and Character pack (Nov. 29). The shoes, clothing, and accessories are inspired by characters, such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Mace Windu. For the first collection, Kyber crystal-inspired accents focus on the bond between a Jedi (or Sith) and their lightsaber. Additional details will be revealed ahead of future packs.
