“Some things stay the same. Though the future remains unknown,” Anna reassures Olaf in Frozen 2 — words that are understood now more than ever.
The world is changing rapidly due to COVID-19, but the coronavirus can’t stop our love of Disney princesses and adorable cartoons. Disney released Frozen 2 on Disney+ three months before initially planned to help people get through this uncertain time.
It officially went online Sunday, but some people were able to catch it on Saturday night (by “some” I mean me). The box-office-dominating film follows sisters Anna and Elsa as they travel into the unknown to unlock mysteries about their kingdom of Arendelle and Elsa’s powers. They join new characters, sing new songs, and remind us that although life can be scary sometimes, anything can be overcome with a great Disney flick.
For those interested in watching a film from a galaxy far, far away: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker dropped digitally a few days ahead of schedule. The final installment in the Star Wars saga became the fifth Disney film to reach $1 billion in box office ticket sales.
The future remains unknown, but we’ve got Anna, Elsa, Rey, and D-0 to get us through it.
