With the rise of digital movie services (hello, Disney+) bringing beloved films to audiences across the globe, it’s no shocker that GKids is releasing a digital film library for Japan’s legendary Studio Ghibli.

For the first time ever, all of your favorite Studio Ghibli films will be available for digital download — anywhere in the world. For fans who can’t decide between “sub versus dub” superiority, all of the films will be available in both English and Japanese. The release includes all of Studio Ghibli’s iconic films — some of my favorites included are The Cat Returns, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, and Porco Rosso.

The animated films will be available for digital download in the U.S. and Canada on Dec. 17, for $19.99 per film. As an added bonus, a six-film bundle of the studio’s most popular titles — including Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away — will be available for $99.99.

GKids is also teaming up with HBO Max for a streaming deal bringing the Studio Ghibli library to fans starting in May. Can’t wait for the digital release? Visit store.gkids.com now to explore all the movies available.
