The Hangrees

There’s a new pop culture parody in town, and it’s hitting hard in San Diego.

MGA Entertainment, the makers of L.O.L. Surprise!, have entered the world of pop culture collectibles with the Hangrees — a new collection of collectible parody figures that come with a message that #ItsGoodToLaugh. Each Hangrees character — such as Harry Plopper, Ninja Turdle, Chewcaca, and Fartnite — comes with their own favorite parody food, drink, or snack, so that fans can feed ’em, shake ’em, and … excrete ’em. Indeed, the Hangrees secrete slimy poop.

While they won’t officially hit stores until Aug. 18, the Hangrees are hitting “Stank Diego” in a fully wrapped food truck that attendees of Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) can be on the lookout for. Additionally, those who visit the Pop Insider Rooftop Pop Up Party at Theatre Box in the Gaslamp District will find Hangrees lurking in select swag bags this Sunday, July 21!

“The toy industry needs more laughter – our core target is kids – they enjoy humor, parodies and, of course, slime,” says Isaac Larian, CEO and founder of MGA Entertainment. “The Hangrees is a parody brand that is designed to bring laughter and chuckles to consumers of all ages.

The Hangrees will launch with nine characters in wave one, including a rare “chrome” character.
