Launching Jan. 12 under Hasbro’s subsidiary Avalon Hill, HeroQuest: First Light is an all-in-one tabletop game and includes everything new heroes need to start their journey into roleplay. Inspired by the iconic ’80s tabletop game HeroQuest, players can use the double-sided game board to explore 10 epic new dungeon-crawling quests to defeat the game master, Zargon, and his forces of evil. Together, the heroes must navigate the ever-changing dungeons, discover bountiful treasures, and battle their way to saving the world.

HeroQuest: First Light features over 100 pieces, from character sheets and game cards to full-color cardboard standees. The four classic HeroQuest heroes sport a fresh new look, alongside a detailed dragon mini-figure. Whether players are longtime dungeon crawlers or just beginning their tabletop journey, the beginner-friendly instructions make it simple for everyone to jump into the fantasy.

Although HeroQuest: First Light is a stand-alone game, it is fully compatible with the relaunched “HeroQuest Game System” from 2021 and all its existing expansion packs, making for hours of epic questing fun.
The adventure doesn’t stop there! The game also includes a link to download a digital companion app. The app acts as a third-party CPU opponent, taking on the role of Zargon and utilizing players’ existing “HeroQuest Game Systems” for an epic virtual quest.
