With the Black Widow movie basically confirmed, Hawkeye (aka Clint Barton, aka Ronin) is the only one of the original six Avengers without an origin story or solo project. However, if a new report from Variety is correct, that’s about to change.
Apparently, the archer-extraordinaire is set to get his own limited series on Disney’s new streaming service, with Jeremy Renner reprising the role. Rumor has it that the series will follow Barton and Kate Bishop, the Young Avenger who follows Barton as Hawkeye in the Marvel Comics, as Barton trains her.
(It’s worth noting that this sounds less like an origin story and more like a continuation/finale for Barton, so perhaps this confirms that at least Hawkeye survives Endgame?)
Barton isn’t the only MCU character set to get new content on Disney+. There are also plans for limited series starring Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, Vision, and Scarlet Witch. These new series will be separate from the former Netflix Marvel TV universe and produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.
