Forget pumpkin spice lattes, October is the peak time for all things horror. True, us horror fanatics don’t need to wait until then to scare ourselves half to death, but that’s when Hill House Comics launches — a pop-up line of horror comic books from DC and author Joe Hill (NOS4A2, Locke & Key).
The new line will feature five original, limited comics debuting on a monthly basis with smart narratives and haunting visuals. Basketful of Heads by Joe Hill will be the first to launch on Oct. 30, followed by The Dollhouse Family by Mike Carey and Peter Gross; The Low, Low Woods by Carmen Maria Machado and Dani; Daphne Byrne by Laura Marks and Kelley Jones; and Plunge by Hill.
A backup story titled “Sea Dogs,” written by Hill, will run in the back of every issue. It features lycanthropes terrorizing a group of sailors at sea.
Hill House Comics are intended for mature audiences and will be released under DC Black Label.
