There is no joke about this. Comedian J.B. Smoove will star in the upcomingMarvel movie Spider-Man: Far From Home.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures declined to comment on the casting, and it is unclear what role Smoove will play. Right now, little is known about the 2019 sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, but Smoove joins Jake Gyllenhaal, who will also make his Spidey debut as the villain Mysterio.
Far From Home hits theaters on July 5, 2019 and will feature director Jon Watts and the return of Tom Holland as Spirder-Man. Michael Keaton, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei are also expected to reprise their roles. As the title suggests, the sequel is the first Spider-Man solo movie to take the character out of New York and put him in international locations. Far From Home is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
