Forget racing to collect rings, we’re racing to lego.com as fast as we can to snag the new LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone building set.
The new set, which launched on New Years Day, is the latest fan-designed set from the LEGO Ideas platform to become a reality. The set officially moved into the development phase last February, in partnership with SEGA.

This final, 1,125-piece set is fairly close to the original design concept proposed by 24-year-old LEGO and Sonic fan Viv Grannell. It recreates one of the most iconic levels from the Sonic games, The Green Hill Zone. It comes with five minifigures: an updated version of Sonic, Crabmeat, Moto Bug, Dr. Eggman, and the Phantom Ruby. It also comes with 10 boxes of golden rings and, once complete, the set features interactive elements like a Technic lever that builders can use to launch Sonic into the air.
Once built, the Green Hill Zone measures about 14 inches across. Designed for adult builders, this set is available to shop now at lego.com and in LEGO Stores.
