Whew. OK. Hold on. This is a LOT.
Today in the-internet-is-a-weird-but-beautiful-thing, comedic rapper Lil Dicky released a song and video titled Earth about, well, the Earth, how much he loves it, and how we all need to work together to stop effing it up. An entertainer releasing what amounts to a musical PSA is slightly newsworthy, yes, but it sure doesn’t explain the video going viral almost instantaneously, or it being among the top 15 trending videos on YouTube.
So, what’s the rub? The song features vocals from a Hollywood Who’s Who. The song credits read more like a Grammy Awards lineup than credits for one wee little song. Take a look at the list below; it’s just the vocal collaborators!

- Halsey
- Zac Brown
- Brendon Urie

(I’m literally tired just typing and reading that.) Not that the video needed another push after that list of contributors, but it’s also very, super, uncomfortably, not-safe-for-work dirty. One line — “How’s it going? I’m a cow. You drink milk from my ti**” — is sang while a cow squirts some milk directly from its utters into the mouth of a cartoon version of Lil Dicky. It also features a slew of potty-mouthed exotic animals singing you a synopsis of who they are and/or what they do. So, that happens.
Add all that to the fact that all proceeds from the single will go to the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to benefit the environment, and you’ve got viral liftoff, people! Honestly, there is so much happening in this seven-minute video that you just have to take a look. Check it out below.
