Mattel Unveils a Spooktacular New Lineup of Monster High Dolls

Monster High fans are in for a spooky treat! This past Sunday at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), Mattel debuted a brand-new lineup of Monster High Skullector dolls, set to release throughout the rest of the year, blending fashion and fright. 

SDCC attendees got a first look at new cinematic-inspired collections, including Universal Monsters dolls from Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Mummy; Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas; Michael Myers from Halloween II; and Krampus from the titular film. Additionally, the fan-favorite Dawn of the Dance collection will also return later this year, alongside a Draculaura Halloween Edition doll. 

Each Monster High Skullector Universal Monsters doll honors the films that inspired them, combining stylish design and spooky storytelling. Limited quantities of this trio are available now at Walmart. Starting Sept. 1, more retailers will carry these dolls in-store and online. 

The Monster High x Universal Monsters Frankenstein Doll brings the 1931 Frankenstein film to life with an all-black look, including a cropped jacket with pointed shoulders, matching black pants, electricity-inspired accents, and platform boots. Eagle-eyed fans will recognize movie-inspired accessories, including a windmill purse, silver barrettes, and a statement necklace that pays homage to the classic. 

Next up, the Monster High x Universal Monsters Dracula doll, inspired by Dracula (1931), brings the timeless vampy vibes. With a pale complexion, red eyes, and jet-black hair, this doll captures Dracula’s haunting energy. The look is complete with a collared dress, netted tights, two-tone, buckled bat heels, blood-dripped earrings, a medallion necklace, and a coffin-inspired purse.  

Third in the Universal Monsters lineup, the Monsters High x Universal Monsters The Mummy Doll draws inspiration from the 1932 horror film. This doll wears a hauntingly elegant look: a gauzy, wrapped dress with flowing fringe sleeves, strappy sandals with skull-and-sarcophagus heels, a sarcophagus-inspired handbag, a scarab ring, and a gold belt. Her striking golden eyes and gray-toned skin mirror the character’s eerie presence. 

In addition to the Universal Monsters collection, fans also got the chance to see new dolls at Mattel’s booth from the Monster High Skullector series ahead of their release later this year. 

Inspired by the 1981 Halloween II movie, the Monster High Skullector Michael Myers Doll commemorates the cult classic, wearing movie-specific details fans will adore. The doll wears a red-glitter jumpsuit, a belt with silver chains with an axe and syringe dangling, and platform black boots with cassette tape heels. Iconic movie references come in mini form with accessories like a Jack-o’-Lantern bag and a knife that can be plunged into it. 

Everyone’s favorite Christmas horror film is also getting a Monster High makeover with the Monster High Skullector Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie Boogie Doll. This doll features classic character detailing, including a patchwork-inspired green ballgown, textured platform boots, and accessories that recall Oogie’s mischievous, insect-infested lair. 

Another Christmas horror cult classic, Krampus (2015), takes on Monster High form with this doll, who wears a hooded jacket, a ruched dress in blood-red tones with extra-long chains, and knee-high black boots that recreate Krampus’s cloven hooves. With her long silver locks and tongue sticking out, holding the cursed bell and angry gingerbread accessories, this doll is sure to haunt your Christmas spirit.

The original Monster High Dawn of the Dance Doll additionally makes its grand return, bringing back characters like Clawdeen Wolf, Frankie Stein, Cleo De Nile, Lagoona Blue, and Draculaura, all in ghoulish-glam, party-ready looks. Each doll includes a phone and pouch accessory, a special invite, and more.

Last but not least, fans can snag the exclusive Monster High Draculaura Halloween Edition doll to celebrate the spooky season. This doll boasts a deluxe bat-inspired outfit, featuring a winged headpiece with spiderweb-sheer veiling, a lace-up satin bodice, and a jacquard skirt. Haunted house heels, a countess collar, and ribbon bracelets add even more drama. Additional details, such as a Halloween-themed doll stand and a Jack-o’-Lantern purse, complete the look. 

With all this newness on the horizon, featuring brand new characters and line returns, Monster High fans can look forward to adding clawsome additions to their shelves throughout the rest of the year! 

Aside from the Monster High Universal Monsters collection, which is currently available in limited quantities at Walmart, the additional dolls will arrive online and in stores this fall and winter, priced between $44 to $70.
