MLP Retro figures

My Little Pony is taking Throwback Thursday to a new level with two retro-inspired launches today.

The first is a new YouTube series called “My Little Pony: The Retro Show.” The episodes feature ’80s- and ’90s-inspired My Little Pony videos. Check out the first video below. It’s a “Pop Up Pony” video, which goes behind the scenes of a music video from the original series. This one features the song “From the Sun.”

The My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic characters have also gone back in time for a new set of Amazon-exclusive MLP collectibles (pictured above). The collection includes the Mane 6 — Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity — redesigned to resemble the My Little Pony design from the ’80s. Each figure stands 3 inches tall, featuring a reimagined cutie mark and rooted hair.

Fans can preorder the figures now for $24.99; they’ll officially release on Sept. 1. While you wait for the figures to ship, you can get your nostalgic MLP fix with new episodes of “The Retro Show” every Thursday.
