This is the best thing that’s happened since Wizard Rock.

Columbia Records and HBO are teaming up to create an officially licensed album of music inspired by Game of Thrones, to accompany the final season of the hit show, premiering in 2019.

The soundtrack will feature songs inspired by the show, showcasing artists from diverse musical genres. Actors, musicians, and other creators fangirl just as much as the average person so, naturally, Game of Thrones has an arsenal of music and entertainment stars among its fanbase, which should make this soundtrack an epic project for creators and fans alike. While no artists have been announced just yet, we hope to hear some familiar voices. Let’s not forget last season’s cameo appearance by Ed Sheeran with his little ditty that reminded us that gold is great but women are better (duh). 2019 can’t come soon enough.
