Paramount’s Bumblebee, the Transformers origin story starring Hailee Steinfeld and directed by Travis Knight, hit $401.3 million worldwide this weekend, with $113.9 million at the domestic box office and $287.4 million at the international box office.
China had the most viewers, followed by the UK, Korea, Mexico, and Indonesia. The last two films in the franchise also performed best in China.
Bumblebee had a lower budget than the rest of the franchise, at an estimated $135 million. A sequel is in the works, along with an animated movie.
