In case you missed it, Free Comic Book Day 2022 is heading back to its traditional spot on the first Saturday in May, after two years of being postponed and/or rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This week, Diamond Comic Distributors released details about the exclusive collectibles that fans will be able to purchase (in limited quantities) at their local comic book stores for the event.
There will be three Free Comic Book Day exclusive collectibles this year, starting with two Star Wars resin busts from Diamond Select Toys (pictured above). First up is a 10-inch, 1:2-scale bust of Boba Fett, wearing his all-black armor from “Nowhere to Hide.” The bust will be limited to 1,000 pieces and costs $199. The second bust is Moff Gideon, as seen in The Mandalorian. The 1:6-scale bust is about 6 inches tall and depicts Gideon wielding the Darksaber. It costs $120 and is limited to 3,000 pieces.
The third Free Comic Book Day exclusive comes from Funko, but there are no images available at this time. The Pop! figure will be based on the red foil variant cover for “Venom: Lethal Protector No. 1.” It depicts Venom as he appears in the Lethal Protector series, complete with metallic details and glow-in-the-dark paint.
These items will be available only from participating local comic book stores on May 7, although fans will be able to preorder these items from their local shop through the Previews World Pullbox platform. They can also use the comic book shop locator to find a participating store nearby.
