Things are getting gross, but in the best possible way!

Two iconic ‘80s gross-out brands, Garbage Pail Kids and Madballs, are teaming up for the ultimate gross-off.

The Topps Company (Garbage Pail Kids) and Cloudco Entertainment (Madballs) have officially partnered for a whole slate of new merch, featuring characters from both brands in a tongue-in-cheek face-off.

For anyone unfamiliar, Garbage Pail Kids (GPK) debuted as a series of trading cards in 1985, featuring gross characters with outrageous names to match. Over the next three years, these terrifying toddlers had an animated series and a slate of consumer products, which is still active today. Madballs — a collection of grotesque characters designed as irregularly-shaped toy foam balls — launched in 1985. This oddball brand went on to inspire a series of animated specials and its own line of consumer products.

For this new collab, fans can expect new, ’80s-inspired artwork from veteran Madballs and GPK illustrators, featuring one character (or a group of characters) from each brand.

That artwork will appear on and inspire plenty of new merch, including Topps trading cards, action figure two-packs from Megalopolis, apparel and accessories from Mad Engine, jackets from Chalk Line, a collection from Mishka NYC, augmented-reality pins from Pinfinity, and collectibles from Super Impulse.

There will even be a specific mobile app for this epic mash-up — details for that and additional partnerships are coming soon. Stay tuned!
