It’s highly illogical you’ll be able to pass up Playmobil’s new Star Trek playset and Naruto figures.

At its New York Comic-Con (NYCC) booth, the German toy brand — which has been leaning heavily into collectibles — showed off the prototype of its soon-to-be-released Klingon Bird-of-Prey ship. With this playset, Playmobil is expanding its existing Star Trek offerings and adding some baddies to the crew. Commander Kruge, Admiral Kirk, Mr. Spock, Klingon Maltz, and two of Kruge’s crew members are included with the ship.

The roof of the bridge is removable and two figures are able to fit inside due to an adjustable seat. Interchangeable slides inserted into the cockpit display trigger light and sound effect sequences. Lastly, the wings can be moved into three different positions and each is outfitted with a functioning cannon. You can stage an iconic battle between the U.S.S. Enterprise and the Klingon commander or make your own space adventures with the addition of the Leonard McCoy and Nyota Uhura extra figures.

Officially available in December for $299.99, this set is inspired by 1984’s Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, complete with light and sound effects from the film that provide an authentic feeling. Collectors can use the colored buttons on the ship’s hull to trigger ambient mode, a firing sequence, an assortment of Klingon phrases, and warp mode. You can also make use of the included pedestal or hanging system to display this piece alongside other memorabilia.

Twelve Naruto figures will be included in Playmobil’s first anime line. | Source: The Pop Insider

Star Trek wasn’t the only fandom on display at Playmobil. For the first time in its history, the company is taking its turn at anime with 12 Naruto figures. The line includes some of the show’s major characters: Sakura Haruno, Lady Tsunade, Kakashi Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki. After the first year’s release of major characters, Playmobil plans on producing minor characters as well.

While the company has maintained the same body mold for its figures for more than 40 years — customizing the paint and hair for each license — the characters from Naruto’s universe required more modifications than usual to capture the look of each specific person. No detail was left out, making these figures engaging toys and the perfect new edition to your collection.
