The 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games are just around the corner, and everyone’s favorite Sanrio icon, Hello Kitty, is popping up on tons of adorable Team USA apparel! (Yes, 2020 has come and gone, but this year’s games are still being stylized as the 2020 Summer Olympics.)
Sanrio and Team USA created several co-branded Hello Kitty x Team USA collections — including apparel, sleepwear, accessories, collectibles, and more — that will be available at a variety of retailers nationwide. Combining Sanrio’s Japanese roots with its major U.S. fanbase, these collections are designed to celebrate equal opportunity, fair play, and global harmony. U.S. Olympic medalist Allyson Felix, who is best known as the first female track and field athlete to win six Olympic gold medals, will serve as the athlete partner for this collaboration.
To start, Urban Outfitters is releasing a collection of men’s apparel featuring Hello Kitty playing sports, including skateboarding, which is debuting at the Olympic Games this summer. There isn’t a release date for this collection yet, so keep watching the Urban Outfitters website!
Select Sanrio stores and sanrio.com dropped a line of apparel and accessories that include collectible Funko Pop! figures, Team USA Hello Kitty T-shirts, special enamel pins, and more — all featuring Hello Kitty playing Summer Olympic sports. A limited line will also be available on the Team USA website.
