It looks like Aquaman is ridin’ solo.

Aquaman director James Wan confirmed that no members from the Justice League will make cameos in the upcoming film, coming out on Dec. 21. (TBH, this is probably for the best.)

Wan explained that he wanted to keep the story simple, focus solely on the standalone film, and not bring in any other characters from the DC Entertainment Universe. He told Entertainment Weekly:

“I wanted to keep the story to the world of Aquaman and not have to worry about what other characters are doing in their films and how that would affect us. I just thought the simplest way was to keep it clean—keep it simple and let it be an Aquaman story.”

Wan reportedly butt heads with DC and Warner Bros. about integrating characters from the League to the film, but it seems as though he got the creative independence for the film he wanted.
