Man, New York Comic Con (NYCC) was a great place to be today if you’re a Star Trek fan. Not only was a new teaser trailer released for Star Trek: Discovery, but a new installment of the Star Trek: Short Treks series hit the interwebz, too. None of that compares to fans being served the ultimate Trekkie treat when Sir Patrick Stewart debuted a new Picard trailer during the series’ panel at Madison Square Garden.
The panel also revealed the much-buzzed-about series’ U.S. premiere date: It’ll hit CBS All Access next year on Thursday, Jan. 23. Following the premiere, new episodes of the 10-episode first season will be available weekly on Thursdays.
The Picard portion of the panel was moderated by CBSN anchor and CBS News national correspondent Vladimir Duthiers and featured a conversation with cast members Stewart, Isa Briones (Dahj), Santiago Cabrera (Cristobal “Chris” Rios), Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker), Alison Pill (Dr. Agnes Jurati), Harry Treadaway (Narek) and Evan Evagora (Elnor); executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, and Heather Kadin; co-executive producer and director Hanelle Culpepper; and supervising producer Kirsten Beyer.
