PAX East has officially invaded the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. From now until Sunday, March 24, gamers of all kinds will get to test new games, meet new playmates, and check out panels from some of their favorite game companies.
The highlights of the weekend are the big names. The Pokémon Co. set up a giant battle lab, where players can test-run the Pokémon Trading Card Game or try their hand at Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Once players are done with their play-through, they can win a prize of a half deck of Pokémon cards and a pin! You can also grab a photo with Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly.
PAX goers can also dive into the award-winning world of Baldur’s Gate 3 at Larian Studios’ booth, where they can play the game on PC, pose with character cosplayers, and try out the studios’ new board game, Divinity: Original Sin.
A convention in Boston would be woefully incomplete without the presence of Dunkin. Dunkin’s booth features a life-size game of “Dunkin’ Invaders,” in which players can test their skill for the chance to win collectible Dunkin’ swag and gift cards. You can also enter to win a Dunkin x StarForge PC by scanning the QR code posted at the booth.
And, no gaming session is complete without some crisp Mountain Dew. Fans can quench their thirst for fun at the Mountain Dew Gaming booth, which features mini-games with a chance to win points towards the Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards Program, a collectible pin, and other special prizes. Mountain Dew also has five trophy stations throughout the convention center. If you find all five, you can get a chance to unlock a vault with epic prizes like an Xbox and Mountain Dew swag.
If you haven’t been able to get the Dune: Part Two soundtrack out of your head, you can stop by the Dune Awakening booth. Dune Awakening is an open-world RPG from Funcom that brings players to Arrakis. Dune Awakening isn’t available yet, but you can play Dune trivia and get a look at the upcoming game at the booth.
Outside of the game companies you already know and love, PAX East is packed with opportunities to find new games and gaming accessories. From dice to D&D-themed tea, there is so much to explore this weekend. You won’t want to miss a thing!
