I choose you, painted Pikachu!

The Van Gogh Museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a Pokémon twist, collaborating with the brand to bring fans beautiful art, new merch, and more. The museum is fully dedicated to the art and life of Vincent van Gogh, a Dutch painter known for his bold Post-Impressionist work that became famous following his death. Now, Van Gogh’s paintings are welcoming a new audience of fans — Pokémon trainers!

The Pokémon Center store will have a full range of exclusive new merch for the collab, including a jigsaw puzzle, figures, plush, trading card game sleeves, poster prints, and more featuring the works of Vincent Van Gogh re-imagined with Pikachu, Snorlax, and more. Pokémon card collectors can get an extra goodie with their purchase, as any item from the Pokémon Center x Van Gogh Museum collection comes with a Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat trading card gift (while supplies last).

The museum is doing its part to get in on the fun, featuring a gallery of six paintings made by artists at the Pokémon Co. The new gallery can be found on the first floor of the Rietveld building in Amsterdam. The Van Gogh Museum also has a Pokémon Adventure leaflet that will guide visitors to the works that inspired the Pokémon paintings. Visitors can exchange a completed leaflet for a Pikachu x Van Gogh Museum promo card. There’s even a video guide to drawing Pikachu that museum guests can follow, as well as teaching materials.

Those interested in visiting the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam or even just having a look at the collab’s page can head to the museum’s website. For those Pokémon fans who won’t be in Amsterdam any time soon, the Pokémon Center store still has you covered with its full collection of artistic new merch!
