It’s been 25 years since Shrek hit theaters for the first time, and fans are still pulling back the layers on the iconic movie. Add another layer of the Shrek experience to your collection with Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings’ version of the Shrek score pressed on vinyl.
These two vinyl picture disc designs feature the original score, penned by Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell, who created the musical universe of Shrek beyond the movie’s legendary needle drops. The first picture disc features Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona running away from Dragon’s flames on Side A and features Fiona confronting Shrek on Side B.
The Barnes & Noble exclusive edition features a rich green base color, with promotional art of Shrek on Side A and a photo of Shrek and Donkey on Side B. The score is also launching on CD, so fans without a record player can jam out (or cry a little bit) too.
These new Shrek vinyls are available for preorder now and are expected to ship at the end of August. That seems like ages away, but we already know we’ll have the time of our lives spinning these vinyls at the swamp.
