Forget Spotify Wrapped — in honor of The Rise of Skywalker, the popular streaming service released a ton of data about how users have interacted with Star Wars content since 2015.
In the second half of this decade, fans listened to a whopping 6.7 million hours of John Williams‘ iconic scores for the franchise. (I must say, I’ve personally contributed at least, like, a thousand of those hours.)
According to Spotify, the most-streamed Star Wars tracks are “Duel of the Fates” (The Phantom Menace), “Across the Stars” (Attack of the Clones), and “The Imperial March.” Apparently, the music is most popular every May 4, and a surprising number of wedding playlists include the sinister “The Imperial March.”
There are also more than half a million Star Wars-themed playlists, including many that are inspired by fan-favorite characters. The most popular characters (in order), are Yoda, Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt (??), and Han Solo.
The newest Star Wars tracks from The Rise of Skywalker — chock full of thematic throwbacks from the previous seven movies — are available to stream now here. Spotify also created a “Best of Star Wars” playlist, which you can check out below!
(And an important pro tip: When you listen to any Star Wars music with the Spotify Desktop app, the progress bar becomes a lightsaber ?)
