To celebrate this week’s The Lion King release, Bloomingdales has compiled a fashion-forward pop-up collection inspired by Pride Rock: the Style Kingdom safari-inspired range. Actress Florence Kasumba (Shenzi the hyena in the new film) served as the retailer’s guest curator for the pop-up shop at the Carousel @ Bloomingdale’s, using her experience working on the film and her personal interest in African fashion to select pieces for the range that captures the spirit of the African lands. One thing’s for sure: This fashionable collection won’t have anyone clearing the Savanna once they see you!

The range — the first time the retailer’s rotating pop-up shop has partnered with a blockbuster film — features clothing brands that empower communities, items sourced from different African regions, and products emblazoned with iconic images from the film. Style Kingdom aims to celebrate the nostalgia of The Lion King, as well as spotlight the unique designers and products from Africa with a bunch of offerings that draw inspiration from the classic film and the African continent as well. Shoppers can find products designed with the film’s logos, imagery, and color schemes in mind, as well as trendy pieces from local African design houses, including Maxhosa, Studio 189, AAKS, and Lem Lem.

“Embracing pop culture moments has long been part of Bloomingdale’s DNA and Disney’s The Lion King is the biggest pop culture moment of the summer,” said Frank Berman, Bloomingdale’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, in a statement. “One of our goals in collaborating with Disney to create Style Kingdom is to enable shoppers to experience the excitement and nostalgia of The Lion King in new ways. Florence’s curation allows us to celebrate the film and African artistry while bringing inspiration and a sense of discovery to our customers through a unique product mix, in-store events and visual moments.”

The collection will be available at the Carousel’s rotating display now through Sept. 2 with Disney merch and fashion-forward items, such as handbags, sandals, raffia hats, bathing suits, dresses, accessories, baby swaddles, and more. (Seriously, just take my money now.)
