Charlie Brown once famously said, “Some days, you just have to create your own sunshine.” And while our favorite “lovable loser” is right, he failed to consider one alternative: Some days, you just have to design your own Peanuts graphic tee.
Each year, Japanese clothing company Uniqlo hosts its annual UT Grand Prix Design Competition, a contest that gives artists everywhere a chance to design and submit an original graphic tee. To honor Charles M. Schulz’s 100th birthday, this year’s theme was Peanuts.
On April 13, the competition came to an exciting close as the panel of judges selected 11 out of 14,000 submissions as winners. These submissions were chosen for their originality and creativity that captured the true spirit of the Peanuts series. Fans can expect to see their favorite characters reimagined in new and exciting ways; my personal favorite features Charlie, Snoopy, Lucy, and Marcie as scoops of an ice cream cone.
The winning tees will be available to shop starting July 4, with both adult and kids sizes available. Adult tees are priced at $19.90, while the kids are priced at $14.90. All designs will be sold at Uniqlo stores across the country and on uniqlo.com. Check out the winning submissions here!
