With less than two weeks left until Halloween, it’s time to settle on the best option for your costume! Everybody wants to win their friends’ costume contest, but only one brand gets Halloween like no other — Wednesday

Halloween costumes based on Wednesday first hit shelves last Halloween, before the show even came out. Regardless, they were a hit.

“We signed on relatively quickly with Rubies costumes and they normally need over a year to develop,” says Ricardo Cruz, Vice President of Licensing at MGM. “They did such a fast track costume, so they ended up focusing on the core characters, like Wednesday, of course, she was the prime, but also the Nevermore Academy kids. So the first iteration was the Nevermore Academy purple pinstripe costume and then Wednesday had her black version of the pinstripe costume because she is allergic to color … That was kind of the assortment that we could do for the fall of ‘22. We went, ‘We can’t be wrong with the core, we got to stick with it.’”

Since then, the Wednesday Halloween collections have only grown. Now, you can get your hands on Enid Sinclair costumes, a Thing shoulder sitter, pet costumes, wigs, and — of course — the iconic Rave’N Dance Dress! Once the MGM team saw the world dancing to “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga like Wednesday danced in the show, the deal was sealed.

“Obviously we had to do the Rave’N Dance,” Cruz says. “We ended up doing the Rave’N Dance for kids and adults because we saw not only teenagers and young adults who were really loving the culture moment, but we saw little kids doing the little dress and doing the TikTok videos of the dance routine.”

MGM partners with both Rubies and Spirit Halloween in the U.S. and Canada, so you will be able to find the best costumes in stores and online. Wednesday also has its own Amazon storefront, where you can shop all things The Addams Family, including the Halloween costumes, but also featuring apparel, accessories, collectibles, and more!

“I think it naturally kind of fit into that Halloween season,” says Robert Marick, Head of Consumer Products at MGM. “That being said, while we certainly emphasize that (Wednesday) during the October time period, we’ve also learned whether it is Wednesday or The Addams Family, that it (the brand) is becoming a year-round program and that we do have dress up that’s going on … a lot of fans year-round want to dress up like Wednesday using items either from their closet or some angles so they could recreate that.”

Whether you’re dressing up as Wednesday Addams year-round or just for spooky season, MGM and its licensing partners have everything you could dream of (except maybe your ancestor from the 1600s).
