Planning your budget for New York Comic Con (NYCC)? Better leave a little wiggle room for Whatnot.
This year, the live shopping platform is taking over 5,000 square feet of the Javits Center to debut its biggest NYCC activation yet: the Whatnot Liveplex. Located at Booth No. 1000, this massive, shopping-mall-inspired space invites collectors to fill their carts with all sorts of must-have memorabilia spanning comics, sports, music, and more. Complete with an arcade, celebrity appearances, and live events, this is one shop you’re going to want to stop for.
The stars of the show are, of course, the Whatnot sellers. Not only will they livestream auctions right from the floor, but many major players will even host events, signings, and live merch drops all weekend long. Todd McFarlane will unveil a signed 2-pack comic celebrating Spawn’s appearance in Diablo Immortal, while Trinity Comics and Czarface will debut an exclusive comic tied to the hip-hop supergroup’s new album.
Fans can also catch Invincible co-creator Ryan Ottley debuting his first-ever “Absolute Batman” cover, a live signing and art exhibition with Marvel legend Peach Momoko, and the launch of Plastic Empire’s con-exclusive Dungeon Crawler Carl mystery bags, designed in partnership with Pixar Art Director Ben Su.

As an official partner, Mass Appeal will have its own dedicated storefront inside the Liveplex, packed with hip-hop heavy hitters. Nas, Slick Rick, and Havoc will kick things off with a “Legend Has It” Vol. 2 poster paying homage to the original 1975 cover of “Giant-Size X-Men” No. 1. Meanwhile, Anderson .Paak and Cordae will debut a special-edition Marvel comic tied to their forthcoming album, Heavy Is the Crown, and Busta Rhymes will release a reimaging of “Incredible Hulk” No. 1 featuring himself and J Dilla in celebration of Dillagence II. Even more artists and athletes will stop by throughout the con for DJ sets, discussions, and more.
And that’s just scratching the surface. The Liveplex will feature hundreds of other goodies to grab, from a Whatnot-exclusive Bloo PIX! figure to a brand-new edition of “Iron Man: Racing Towards Doom,” featuring Formula 1 stars Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. The Mets-themed Macho Man Randy Savage Big Rubber Guy is a homerun for baseball lovers, while Knicks fans can score a special “Amazing Spider-Man” No. 1001 variant that reimagines the cover of “Avengers” No. 4 with Jalen Brunson as Captain America.
Can’t make it to the Javits Center? Never fear — all of Whatnot’s NYCC programming will be available to livestream through Beyond the Con. You can also find streams from even more comics and collectibles sellers on the Whatnot app, so no one misses out on any fun finds.
Fans can find the Whatnot Liveplex at Booth No. 1000 all NYCC long, Oct. 8-11. To learn more and start your shopping list, visit whatnot.com.
