There is a lot of fan hype around Avengers: Doomsday, premiering in theaters Dec. 18, but that’s not the only surprise Marvel has in store.
At New York Comic Con (NYCC), guests rushed to the Empire Stage to hear the latest news from Marvel Entertainment. The Up Next from Marvel Television and Marvel Animation panel was the place to be for an inside look at the most anticipated series coming to Disney+ — and, now we’re sharing it with you!
On the first day of NYCC, Thursday, Oct. 8, the panel opened with a glimpse of Marvel Comics’ future. Fans can expect new surprises for Midnight Universe, Spider-Man’s 1000th comic book issue, and an extended collaboration with Webtoon.

Moving from pages to programming, the first piece of exciting news has to do with Marvel’s Zodiac. The panel reveals that this spy thriller will be filmed in London and premiere on Disney+ in 2028.
The undead will also rise again with new additions to Marvel Zombies. Premiering over the next three Halloweens are The Winter Soldier (2027), The Fist of Khonshu (2028), and The Last Guardian (2029).
Marvel Animation announces even more heroic adventures with Season 3 of X-Men ’97. While the next season is in the works, NYCC guests got a first glimpse at the show. The best part of the clip? — We’re getting a Rogue and Gambit wedding!

Also swinging into action is Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Showrunner Jeff Trammel spoke about Peter Parker’s upcoming challenges with Doctor Octopus and Scorpion, as well as some new obstacles.
“With Season 2, Peter is ready to go, and he’s got some big threats,” Trammel reveals. “You can expect some new, fun surprises. Peter is going to have to level up a bit…and might need some help in the form of an inky black goo.”
Along with Venom’s future appearance, Trammel also shares the series’ release date. Before a sneak peek of the first episode, Trammel announces that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will premiere on Jan. 13, 2027.
One of the greatest announcements for fans was the reveal of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. And before guests saw The Defenders on screen through a teaser trailer, they saw them in person. Joining the stage were Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), and Finn Jones (Danny Rand).
They weren’t the only surprise guests at NYCC. With VisionQuest launching next week on Oct. 14, the panel welcomed the series’ actors to the stage. To speak on the new series were Paul Bettany (Vision), James Spader (Ultron), Emily Hampshire (E.D.I.T.H.), Ruaridh Mollica (Tommy Maximoff), and show creator Terry Matalas.
Bettany jokes that VisionQuest picks up from the events of WandaVision with Vision “walking in a pub.” Spader adds to the humor when speaking about his return as Ultron, saying that his new ‘costume’ makes him a bit taller because they’ve put lifts in his shoes.
Mollica shares his excitement about joining the MCU and about fans seeing Tommy reunite with his family. Hampshire adds that E.D.I.T.H., the AI from Spider-Man: Far From Home, now has a body that fans can expect to see in the series. Matalas rounds out the discussion by speaking on the conclusion of the WandaVision trilogy.
“It was really made with love,” Matalas says. “From the Marvel executives to the brilliant writing staff, we just had the best time making it.”
To conclude the panel, guests watched the very first episode of VisionQuest ahead of its Disney+ premiere. NYCC attendees can still find more surprises from Marvel by visiting Booth No. 2153.
