Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax may be 49 years old, but its titular character’s message about caring for the earth is just as prevalent today, especially on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
To celebrate Earth Day and the Lorax, Billabong partnered with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to release a line of sustainable apparel and board shorts inspired by Seuss’ iconic champion of the trees. Today’s release includes more than 30 sustainable shirts, hats, sandals, and shorts for both kids and adults. The collection features different themes, too, including a Truffula Tree pattern and a “Speak for the Trees” design.
One highlight of the collection is the Lorax Sundays Pro Boardshorts, which feature Ciclo fibers and are made from recycled P.E.T. bottles.
This collection is part of a larger collaboration that includes additional product drops between now and July, each inspired by a different Dr. Seuss book. An Oh, the Places You’ll Go! collection will drop on June 24 and a One Fish, Two Fish collection will follow on July 6.
Surfers and Dr. Seuss fans alike can check out a launch video for the collection below and shop the full Lorax collection at billabong.com.
