It’s only August, but it’s never too early to prepare for the new year. Chiikawa Market is gearing up to launch its collection of Japanese New Year merch for 2027, the Year of the Sheep.
The highlight of the collection is the Chiikawa Happy Bag 2027 Year of the Sheep plush. For the very first time, Chiikawa fans outside of Japan will be able to purchase the collection. The Happy Bag features three Zodiac plush inspired by the Year of the Sheep, including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, each with fluffy fur and rounded silhouettes. The bag also features the Sheared Wool Mascot Plush, made from wool sheared from Chiikawa to make yarn.

Along with the plush, the bag includes 12 items, including the “We Made This” face towel, an acrylic stand to display the collection on your shelf, Kurimanju’s Shopping List Whiteboard, a postcard book, tote bags, and more.
Preorders for the Chiikawa Year of the Sheep Happy Bag will open on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at chiikawamarket.jp. With all of this adorable merch on your side, 2027 is sure to be the best year ever.
