Does your V cosplay slay? Do you plan to carefully curate the perfect Placide arm for an upcoming con? If so, you’re in luck.
Today, CD Projekt Red launched an official Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay contest, with a tantalizing $40,000 prize pool as the endgame. The highly anticipated video game may not be out yet, but the contest announcement video encourages gamers and cosplayers to take inspiration from official videos, screenshots, and character profiles the company has published to promote the game.
Those who want to enter the contest can do so online via the official cosplay contest website, or in person at one of five qualifier events. The qualifiers will take place at the following gaming shows this year:
- Gamescom (Cologne, Germany), Aug. 21-24;
- PAX West (Seattle), Aug. 3-Sept. 2;
- Tokyo Game Show (Tokyo), Sep. 12-15;
- Igromir (Moscow), Oct. 3-6; and
- Paris Games Week (Paris), Oct. 30-Nov. 3.
CD Projekt Red will select 10 finalists (five online submissions and five in-person submissions) to compete in a live, on-stage grand finale. In addition to the monetary rewards, the winning cosplayers can earn a magazine cover photo and other prizes. The company will announce details for this finale event early next year.

Cyberpunk 2077Â will be available on April 16 next year for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
