Without the plethora of headlining Marvel characters that Disney owns the rights to, Sony has to dig a little deeper to find its comic book movie content and this time, they steered away from Marvel and landed on an adaptation of Faith by Valiant.

Not only is she the perfect counter to all of the overdone brood and angst we see in comic adaptations these days, but she is also confidently plus-sized and isn’t drawn with unattainable features perpetuating body image issues. Faith is literally a comic book nerd who can fly. Can you say meta?

The film has already begun production, according to Deadline, and Maria Melnik will write the script (bless, they chose a woman). The studio didn’t release any casting info yet, but we’re hoping they choose someone who is actually plus-sized.
