Kevin Feige’s power has just become more super.

The Marvel Studios president and lead architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is undertaking an additional title as Marvel chief creative officer, placing all of Marvel’s creative direction across film, television, and publishing under Feige’s command.

According to a Deadline exclusive published yesterday, the Marvel TV and Marvel Family Entertainment branches will be restructured under Feige’s Marvel Studios umbrella. This shift creates a new reporting ladder for key creative executives Dan Buckley, president of Marvel Entertainment, and Ike Perlmutter, chairman. Buckley will continue to supervise creative and editorial for Marvel’s publishing ventures under the guidance of Feige; he will now report publishing operations, sales, licensing, and events duties to Perlmutter in a dual reporting role. Feige will continue to report to Walt Disney Co-Chairman Alan Bergman and Co-Chairman and CCO Alan Horn.

The new creative control comes at a crucial time for Disney’s strong-arm shift into the streaming world with Disney+. After Feige unveiled Marvel’s plans for the streaming service (available Nov. 12) at Investor Day, plus made the rounds at Disney Expo D23 and Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), Disney’s decision to let the man behind Marvel’s cinematic successes spearhead Marvel’s streaming contributions is a no-brainer. Disney+ projects to come include The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Hawkeye, What If?, and WandaVision.

Feige’s new title comes as no surprise following Marvel’s highly successful box office run in the last 11 years. The MCU has produced the highest-grossing film of all time in Avengers: Endgame, $2 billion-plus grossers Captain Marveland Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Best Picture contender, Black Panther. Feige has proved he’s pure of heart, but Disney now thinks the Force is strong with Feige, too: The Marvel visionary was just tapped to produce and develop a future Star Wars film.

Now that Disney secured Spider-Man for a minimum two more films from the web-slinger’s owner Sony Pictures, Feige has revealed himself as Disney’s most valuable superhero.
