No matter what device is being used, watching Star Wars is always an out-of-this-world experience. But imagine viewing the sci-fi saga from a Star Wars-themed TV, complete with galactic cosmetic designs and user interface — that would be out of this universe.
LG Electronics, in collaboration with Lucasfilm, is launching a Star Wars edition of its 65-inch C2 OLED evo TV. The TV will feature a specialized user interface, aesthetics, and content. Users can control the TV with a Magic Remote that is designed to mimic a lightsaber visually and sonically. Each TV includes numbered certificate of authenticity and is stored in Darth Vader packaging.
All LG TVs are programmed with a Gallery Mode, and the Star Wars TV is no different. Fans will be treated to two different categories of Star Wars art: The Creation and the Cinematic Vision. The art under The Creation category will feature original storyboard and illustrated images to show how Star Wars came to life. The Cinematic Vision will showcase content such as movie posters and major movie scenes.
The special-edition Star Wars LG OLED evo will be on display at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA. It will be available for purchase later this year on lg.com.
