Calling all would-be superheroes!
The long-awaited Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, finally has an opening date. Pending any outside interference from Hydra or the coronavirus, the Avengers Campus will open its doors on July 18.
The new land features several distinct locations, each hosted by a different Marvel superhero or one of their allies. Once inside, where visitors will play the role of new recruits, they will be briefed by the heroes about the mission at hand.
During The Walt Disney Co.‘s Annual Shareholders Meeting this morning, outgoing Disney CEO aka new Executive Chairman Bob Iger introduced a video revealing that Tom Holland will reprise his role as the web-slinging Spider-Man in WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. The spidey-themed attraction utilizes new technologies to give visitors the sensation of having web-slinging powers. In the attraction, visitors will take part in a mission for WEB — the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — an organization assembled by Tony Stark whose members include Peter Parker.
Additional attractions in Avengers Campus included the Ant-Man themed Pym Test Kitchen restaurant and the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! ride, which first opened two years ago. Popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Thor, and Loki, will be featured as live-action walkarounds at the park. New additions include Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Iron Man will debut his new Mark 80 armor.
