The Winx Club fairies are back and bringing their magic to comics!
Rainbow Group, the entertainment company that owns Winx Club, is officially working with comics publisher Mad Cave Studios to release a series of Winx Club graphic novels. The comics will follow the Winx girls on entirely new adventures as the world of Winx continues to evolve.
The original Winx Club series premiered in Italy in 2004, quickly gaining enough popularity to receive an English dub. The show aired for eight seasons on Rai channels in Italy and on Nickelodeon internationally. The series followed a group of girls who can turn into fairies with various powers, ranging from controlling nature to working with technology.
Now, the fairies are back in business, following the recent two-season, live-action Netflix series inspired by the characters. Adults and new fans alike can adventure once more with Bloom, Stella, Flora, Tecna, Musa, and Aisha. Under the new publishing agreement, Mad Cave Studios will be releasing young adult as well as middle-grade graphic novels.
This new collaboration comes at a time of licensing growth for the Winx brand. Recent Winx launches have included a Colourpop collection inspired by the original series, official Winx Club cosplay patterns, and a collection of QPosket figures inspired by Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga.
The first of the new Winx graphic novel stories will hit the scene next year, so fairy fans should keep an eye out for a year full of fairies! While they wait, comics lovers can browse Mad Cave Studios’ other graphic novel offerings, then rewatch the original Winx Club and Fate: The Winx Saga.
