The annual New York-based Anime convention has a new partner at its side!
Anime NYC brings together passionate fans of every anime fandom. Whether you want to cosplay, hit all the panels, or catch exclusive screenings, this con has something for you. And in 2024, Anime NYC will offer even more Japanese cultural enrichment thanks to a new partnership with the Japan Society.
Japan Society will act as Anime NYC’s official non-profit partner, with both organizations working throughout the year to promote education about Japanese culture. Attendees to this year’s convention will have the opportunity to donate to Japan Society as part of their ticket purchase. Ticket sales launch tomorrow, Jan. 17, so get yours while you can! The con (held once again at the Javits Center) will be the biggest to date, with more than 200,000 new square feet of space for exhibitors and programming.
The new space will be filled in part with efforts from Japan Society, which will offer new cultural activities to attendees of the convention in addition to the year-round events that the partners plan to put on. With help from Anime NYC, Japan Society will host several classic Japanese movie and anime film events beyond the con.
This year’s Anime NYC will run from Aug. 23-25, a departure from previous years’ November scheduling. The new partnership with Japan Society will help the non-profit in its overall goal of showcasing Japanese arts, culture, and more to citizens of New York and the world.
