New York Comic Con (NYCC), ninjas, and new surprises? If this doesn’t make sense, that means you haven’t heard the latest announcements from the NARUTO: What’s Next? panel.
Fear not, superfans. The Pop Insider attended the Empire Stage panel on Saturday, Oct. 10, commonly known as Naruto’s birthday. Keep reading to learn about all the exciting things coming to the Naruto universe.
Sharing all the news from the Hidden Leaf Village were host Mikey McNamara and two very special guests. Junko Takeuchi (the voice of Naruto Uzumaki) and Noriaki Sugiyama (the voice of Sasuke Uchiha) open the panel to give thanks to the many fans in attendance.
“I can hear you guys counting down along with that timer from backstage. The passion and the expectations are so high,” Sugiyama says.
“Thank all of you guys so much for your continued support for Naruto through all the years,” Takeuchi adds.
The fan excitement truly kicked off with the world premiere teaser trailer for the brand-new anime series, Naruto x Ninkū. This four-episode crossover anime unites the two shinobi series with an original storyline. Yoshihiro Tominaga, the executive producer at Pierrot Films, took the stage to speak further about the anime.
“With this project, we were aiming for a fusion of a new, fresh look and nostalgia,” Tominaga explains. “Both Naruto and Ninkū return with new animation after such a long time. We want to use the latest animation techniques to deliver the highest possible quality, while remaining true to the styles many viewers cherish.”
So, what can you expect from Naruto x Ninko? In this anime, Team 7 members Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are given a mission by Kakashi. While Naruto is motivated to make this mission a success, things take a turn when they find themselves lost in another world. While Naruto x Ninko is currently in production, this is not the only adventure awaiting Team7.
