New York manga fans might want to leave a little room on the calendar this month.
Kodansha House, produced by ACRONYM, is headed to Hudson Yards from Oct. 9-18, bringing a temporary home for manga, anime, creator appearances, merch, and plenty of shelf-browsing to 508 W. 37th St. That’s just two blocks from Javits Center, making it a quick detour from New York Comic Con (NYCC).
The free event pulls from across Kodansha’s catalog, so there’s a lot more on deck than one or two headline franchises. Fans can expect Blue Lock, Attack on Titan, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Fairy Tail, Magic Knight Rayearth, and The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity to be part of the mix.
That last title is getting some extra love, too. Creator Saka Mikami will appear during the NYC run, giving fans a chance to connect with the artist behind the series. Magic Knight Rayearth will also get New York-exclusive programming.
Beyond the featured titles, Kodansha House will include manga reading areas, creator and fan events, rotating programming, retail drops, and exclusive merch. Think less traditional convention floor, more giant manga clubhouse.
This is the third edition of Kodansha House, following an earlier Los Angeles stop.
Doors will be open daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and admission is free. Get more details here.
