Netflix finally released a trailer for Stranger Things 3 today and Hawkins, Indiana, is peak ‘80s with brand new shopping malls, cans of hairspray (and people getting sprayed in the face with said hairspray), and neon galore. There’s a lot packed into the 2-minute, 49-second trailer, set to The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.”
“We’re not kids anymore. I mean, what did you think, we’re just gonna’ sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives?” says a voiceover by Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) as a distressed Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) looks at an old photo of the squad dressed up as Ghostbusters.
Hopper (David Harbour) is out of his sheriff’s uniform and in a Hawaiian shirt. Dacre Montgomery is back as bad boy Billy, and Joe Keery is back as the adorkable Steve. The Demogorgon is back, too, and it looks like he’s been working out.
One summer can change everything, and we can’t wait until July 4. In the meantime, check out the trailer and new images below.
