The biggest buzz from yesterday’s Apple event may have been the iPhone 11, but the announcements also included some updates on Apple’s entertainment services: Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade.
Apple Arcade, a video game subscription service announced back in March, will launch first — and soon. It will be available in the App Store starting next Thursday, Sept. 19. Those with iOS 13 can pay $4.99 per month to access more than 100 exclusive games that are playable across iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, Macs, and Apple TVs (compatibility for some devices will come later this month or in October).
The star-studded Apple TV+ streaming service finally got some details, too, including a release date of Nov. 1. The streaming platform will contain all original content and will cost just $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
Starting now, anyone who buys a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, or Mac will get one year of Apple TV+ for free. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share one Apple TV+ subscription. According to Apple, there will be nine titles on the platform at launch, with additional shows, movies, and documentaries added each month.
