This holiday season, the Skywalker Saga is coming to a console near you.

EA Games’ popular multiplayer enterprise Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is getting an epically timed update with new characters, vehicles, and whole planets from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the very same week the film hits theaters.

In an exciting cinematic trailer, players can get a glimpse of the action ahead as Finn and BB-8 lead a rebel squad headfirst into First Order territory on a lush, new jungle planet – which might be a familiar sight to any observant viewers of the Rise of Skywalker trailers. After some exciting bouts with First Order AT-ST walkers, Rebel gunnery, and airborne jet troopers, the true forces emerge as Kylo Ren and Rey meet for the ultimate showdown. The action-packed teaser is craftily handling double duty, no doubt getting fans excited for the film and the chance to experience it first hand.

Since launching in November 2017, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has expanded its gameplay universe with updated locations, weapons, and heroes spanning the Star Wars anthology’s vast films and extended content. The Rise of Skywalker add-ons join previous additions from the original saga and the prequels, including featured heroes Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker.

Players can experience the Rise of Skywalker updates immediately with new fighters, such as the First Order Jet Troopers, Ovissian Gunner, and Caphex Spy, included on launch, while appearances from new heroes Finn, Rey, and Kylo are available via in-game purchase. For players who own the Celebration Edition – which commemorates two years of gameplay and contains Battlefront 2’s complete collection of in-game content since the game’s initial release – all three appearances will be unlocked automatically.

The Rise of Skywalker update begins on Dec. 17 and extends into next year.
